Crushed...
Joe Satriani has been my guitar hero and favorite artist for 10 years. I have all of his albums, I have several signature guitars, memorabilia, all kinds of stuff. He never scheduled a show where I live so I traveled 2000 miles to go see him and went all out with VIP tickets and everything. The VIP experience started with someone walking out and telling us that Joe refuses to take pictures or have one on one interactions with people. In my mind that was the bare minimum so I was shocked to hear that. He will just walk out on stage, answer some questions, and leave. Between long answers and being pulled in many different directions, he ended up skipping over me before running out of time. That was the VIP experience that I paid so much money and waited so long for. I was so devastated that I wasn't able to enjoy the show. I am especially disappointed considering I saw Steve Vai just 2 nights before and I saw how much effort he put into making every single fan at the VIP feel appreciated. Joe has no excuse for treating his fans this way. It devastates me to say this but this was the worst concert experience I've ever had and it completely ruined my view of Joe and his art.
Whatever you do, don't get VIP tickets. If you insist, lower your expectations. A lot.
